Can I hire additional musicians?

• If you wish to hire additional musicians, I generally book the other musicians for you. My many years in northern Michigan, connections to the Interlochen Center for the Arts, and orchestral playing have given me the ability to hire the best professionals around. I can create duos, trios and quartets of various combinations. I have a plethora of music available for cello-violin, string quartets, and harp-violin duos. For more modern/pop music, I always recommend hiring a quartet if possible or a harp-violin duo or add a cello for a unique trio.

Can I use a family member or friend to perform with you for the event?

• It can be so wonderful to include loved ones in your event. This is a possibility, but I cannot guarantee the quality when working with a non-professional. There is an additional fee for rehearsing before the event with the family member or friend.

Can you play for the cocktail hour and/or reception?

• I have a wide variety of repertoire to cover cocktail hours and receptions as a soloist or ensemble. It works very well for a dinner to have a small group of musicians for larger affairs, but I can also perform as a soloist

What does it cost to hire you?

• Please email me at kaylee@erlewein.com or fill out my contact form on this website with your wedding date, time, exact location, and personal requests (i.e. duo, trio, voice, trumpet, etc.) for a price quote. My prices vary due to many factors including venue location, travel expenses, the number of special requests for music not currently in my repertoire, musicians desired, etc.

When are you paid?

• I require a deposit with the signed contract to secure the date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the event date. I know that once the event is going you will want to focus on your guests, not this detail. I do have to charge an additional fee if I am owed a balance after the event. The late fee charge is 15% of the original fee.

Can I request special music?

• I have hundreds of pieces in my repertoire for many sizes of ensembles and I love adding additional music to my list. The internet has made it much easier to locate  sheet music for pieces and I have many music memberships that allow me access and discounts to sheet music. For most events I will provide up to three new pieces, but occasionally it is difficult to find arrangements already published. If I have to arrange music myself there is an additional charge that varies depending on instrumentation.
